Last week our team descended on Nashville for the annual CodeScience All Hands Meeting, rocking a theme for the record books: the League of C|S Super Powers. With a headquarters in Chattanooga, an office in San Francisco, and CodeScientists working remotely all over the country, C|S gathers everyone together once a year for some much needed face time. The week can be summed up in one word: EPIC. From the team building, camaraderie, content, Southern cooking – and of course – the music, we all left Nashville changed for the better.

Things kicked off on Sunday with a Welcome Reception where everyone was invited to come dressed as their favorite Super Power. And did they ever! Loews Vanderbilt never had a group like ours come through the lobby… Our Casual Costume Contest winners included The Hulks (Funniest), Matt Carroll’s augmented reality experience (Most Creative), and the Operations team as the Power Puffs (Best Team Costume), but additional hilarious entries included Captain Positivity, Slack Man, All Caps Doug (inside joke), Stevie Wonder Woman, Hindsight Lad, “Lipstick”, and Steven Fulgham as Brian Walsh. Here’s a slideshow of the night’s shenanigans.

On Monday, we all became Music City’s newest recording stars with an evening at the famous Ocean Way Studios, a converted church. We divided into three teams to each write a song that tells the CodeScience story. The payoff: three catchy ditties and a night full of belly laughs.

Wednesday night at ACME Feed & Seed was the much anticipated C|S People’s Choice Hoggie Awards, recognizing employees’ outstanding contributions – nominated by both their peers and by directors. We go not only Whole Hog for ISVs but also for our team. The performance bar is high but every year our incredible people raise it even higher.

It wasn’t all just fun and games at All Hands. We soaked up engaging content and training that maximized every moment of each day. CodeScientists are curious as kids, and our passion for learning never stops. As a result, this week back at work has been an explosion of productivity and new ideas popping up everywhere.

I think a quote from JT sums up the meeting well. “Last week’s All Hands beat out my past employer’s for the best All Hands experience I’ve had. And I assure you, they spent way more money on it, so it’s not a $$ thing at all. CodeScience is the only FAMILY I’ve worked WITH.” #truth
